Below is an excerpt from the TVHS yearbook

The 1959-60 basketball season of the Tusky Valley Trojans was a surprising and exciting one due to the fact that we had one of the shortest teams in the county. But even with our handicap, we came out with a rousing 14-4 record during season play, and were tied with Midvale for second place in the County League standings.

The squad consisted of six seniors and six juniors, with Dale Duerr and Ron Lake as Co-captains. Cal Cantrill and Ron Lake were chosen members of this year's "Coach All-County Team" and "Dover Reporter's All-County Team."

In County Tournament play, the Trojans, taking victories over Port Washington 82-71, and Tuscarawas 75-53, were defeated by League Champions, Garaway 62-60. This entitled the Trojans to the Runner-up Trophy. Continuing in Sectional play the Trojans were defeated by Killbuck 69-51. The high scores this season were Cantrill with 287; Lake 233; Studer 208; Cerett 137; and Ickes.
