Coach Bob Heller started the 1960-1961 basketball season with three returning lettermen: Al Cerett, Jim Studer, and Ron Lake. Co-captains were Lake and Rod Copper.

Starting out the season right, the Trojans defeated Gnadenhutten and Strasburg, with Studer scoring 26 and 27 points respectively. Midvale gave the team their only setback in a league play with a heart-breaking defeat. The Trojans then had their longest winning streak with wins over Garaway, Conotton Valley, and Dalton, with Mike Widder scoring 61 and Lake, 54 in three games. Uhrichsville halted the winning ways of the Trojans with a stunning defeat as Cropper scored his highest total of the season with 18. Tuscarawas gave T.V. very little trouble as Widder and Studer scored 21 points each. Dennison tripped the Trojans for their third defeat. Then the boys encountered Stone Creek and Baltic in league games and were on the winning side both times, as Widder connected with 15 and 19 points to lead the way.

Playing the first Saturday night game in school history, we were beaten by Gnadenhutten, as Lake potted 18 points. Strasburg then fell prey to T.V. for the second time, as four regulars scored in double figures. Double A schools, Uhrichsville and Perry, defeated the little Trojans, as Widder and Lake scored 48 points in the two games. T.V. ended the season with three straight victories: Port Washington, with Studer hitting for 17: Malvern, with Cerett pouring in 20 points, his high for the season; and Garaway, as Studer again led the attack with 22. The season's record gave Tusky Valley a Co-Championship in league play.

Tusky Valley's play in the county tournament was short but exciting, as they squeaked by Port Washington with a basket in the final seconds of the game by Studer, who also led the scoring with 23 points. Gnadenhutten then stopped the Trojans as Lake scored 25 points. With this defeat nine seniors played their final game for T.V.

Ron Lake, for the second year, was named the Coaches All-County team along with Jim Studer. Lake was also awarded the Most Valuable Player award in the county. Leading scorers: Studer 316, Lake 288, Widder 284, Cerett 139, and Cropper 92.
