The 1980-81 varsity boys' basketball team ended the season with an 8-14 record. Once again, the team faced a very tough schedule playing seven state ranked teams. With new head coach, Mr. Von Kaenel, the Trojan team started into the season with lettermen Mark Heavlin, Bob Alsept, and Mark Williamson. The Trojans were almost always "out-sized" by their opponent, but with their patient offensive and intense defensive play, were consistently competitive. The varsity finished as the sectional runner-up after defeating Claymont but succumbing to Tri-Valley. Next year's team will have the same tough schedule but they will start out with four returning lettermen which brings hope to the 1981-1982 basketball season.
