Below is an excerpt from the TVHS yearbook
A young , inexperienced Trojan basketball squad travelled a rocky road in the PAC-7, finishing 2-12 and 4-17 overall. "It was a good learning experience for our young team. All the players are going to have to work hard in the off-season to achieve success in the season to come," commented junior Jake Chenevey.
According to Trojan mentor Don Spinell, maturing was definitely a positive aspect of the season. "Although we were extremely young, I felt our players matured a great deal during the season. I know we did not have a record, but we never gave up and planted a seed for the future. There is one thing I would like to say about our kids and that is that we will be back and the tradition will continue.
"In my opinion, the season was fairly productive. We could see hints of the future in a few of the games we played. We always seemed to get up for the big games, but had a harder time getting up for the smaller games. The future is bright, so I am looking for many good seasons to come," said Jason Eckinger, sophomore.
Post-season awards went to Bryan Wright (jr.) and Jason Eckinger (soph.), Co-Mr. Offense; Corey Kramer (jr.), Mr. Defense; Jake Chenevey (jr.), Most Improved; Bill Gowan (jr.) and Zac Price (jr.), Co-Coach's Award.
