Despite exciting moments of rising to the occasion for some mountain-top wins, Trojan cagers finished an up and down season at a disappointing 7-15, culminating in a tournament defeat by area powerhouse Indian Valley, who brought our season and our hopes up short.

"Although we did not reach our destined goal of maintaining a winning season, we pulled together as a team at the right times and defeated Sandy Valley twice in the PAC," said junior Dan Lawver.

Though the squad concluded the regular season 7-15 and the PAC at 3-11, there were some positive aspects to the season. "Even though we didn't have a winning record, I think we did great. The competition in the PAC this year was top-notch, and some, like Indian Valley, were even state ranked. Almost every game was close and not final until the last second, but, unfortunately we did not get the lucky bounce," explained Junior Jason Eckinger.

"The basketball season for my teammates and me was a success. We had some ups and downs, but we worked through them, and that is a good sign for a basketball team. My teammates got along extremely well, and when you have the chemistry of good friendship, any goal can be achieved if you put your mind to it," said junior David Lautenschleger.

Post season awards went to junior Jason Eckinger, Most Valuable Player; senior Bryan Wright, Mr. Offense; senior Corey Kramer, Mr. Defense; junior J.P. Ragon, Most Improved; and junior Craig Lieser, Coach's Award.
