Tusky Valley Beats Malvern in Football Debut
This three yard run by Walt Duebner resulted in the first touchdown in Tusky Valley history

The Tusky Valley Trojans made their football debut last night and pulled out a 20-12 win against Malvern at Strasburg field.

After as scoreless first quarter, the Trojans fell behind the Hornets 12-7 at the intermission. The two teams battled to a scoreless third quarter before Tusky Valley outscored the Hornets 13-0 in the final quarter to capture the school's first ever victory.

Walt Duebner scored Tusky Valley's first ever touchdown in the second quarter. After his 40-yard run put the Trojans in scoring position, Duebner found the end zone with a three yard run to put Tusky Valley on the scoreboard in the second quarter.

The Hornets added two scores of their own in the second quarter as Andrews scored on a three yard run and Ferguson scored on a seven yard sweep. Both of Malvern's point after attempts were unsuccessful.

Trailing 12-7 entering the fourth quarter, Coach Ed Baran's Trojans took the lead with nine minutes remaining when Duebner scored his second touchdown of the game from seven yards out. Tusky Valley would add another touchdown late in the game when Joe King scored on a four yard touchdown. Jerry Pullins added a a pair of extra points for the Trojans.
