The 1972 Tusky Valley football team finished with a record of 6-4-1. 1972 was the first season of the Ohio football playoff system. The Trojans qualified for the Class A playoffs and became part of the inaugural Ohio football playoffs. The Trojans would lose in the playoffs to eventual state champion Marion Pleasant.
