Below is an excerpt from the yearbook
The 1977-78 football season will be long remembered in our school for the mighty Trojans, lead by a group of strong-willed seniors, smashed their way through the A.O.C. to an 8-1-1 season. Although they opened the season with a loss, they rallied their determination and fought out the rest of the season without losing a game. The strength and talent of the team, combined with excellent coaching from Larry Foltz and his staff of specialists, was all it took to capture the first place spot in the All Ohio Conference.
These pages have been devoted to the pride and joy of the 1978 graduating class, our senior football players. The squad included 15 seniors, many of whom devoted the entire four years of their playing eligibility to our fine team. We would like to recognize these well disciplined students and to extend to them the very warmest wishes in the future. Also deserving special recognition are senior linebacker Brad Reese for being chosen All District Lineman of the Year and Larry Foltz for receiving the Tuscarawas County Coach of the Year award.
