Below is an excerpt from the yearbook

Defeating Triway and Fairless were the highlights of the 1984 varsity season according to Head Coach John Hurst. "Both games were well-played and showed strong defense. East Canton and Carrollton were close, hard fought games too."

The season ended with an overall record of 2-8 and 0-7 in the Senate League. The team hoped for a better record yet there was some strong opposition.

Recognition certainly goes to the seniors for playing a great season. Coach Hurst offered much praise for his defensive team saying, "They did a great job under the circumstances. We did not have too much offense and the defense was on the field a lot."

Special awards include Stacy Tomblin , 1st Team Region III, 1st Team County Coaches, HM All-County, and HM Eastern Region; Gary App, 1st Team Region II, HM County Coaches, and 2nd Team All County; Tom Ackerman, HM Region II, HM All-Senate League, and HM County Coaches; Warren Lewis, 1st Team Region II, 1st Team All-County, and 1st Team County Coaches; Tod Workman, 1st Team Region II, 1st Team County Coaches, 2nd Team All-County, and HM All-District.
