Posting a 7-3 overall record and 3-2 in the PAC would be good enough for most teams, but not this year's Trojans. The Gridders' high expectations came to a halt when they were downed by Manchester and Fairless in consecutive weeks. "We wanted to go to the playoffs but came up short against Fairless, so we needed to beat Coshocton, and that didn't happen," commented, senior, Kurtis Whitling. The Trojans played the playoff-bound Redskins tough but once again came up short.

The Trojans had begun the year with a series of blowout victories over area foes, totaling 189-19 in the first four games. "We started strong and showed people we could play but just came up short against some tough teams," said, senior, Larry Poulson.

The entire Trojan offensive line consisted of the seniors and was appropiately dubbed the "Meat Locker". The Trojans were fueled by all fourteen seniors and their separate contributions. "The seniors showed great leadership and came through when we needed big plays," added, junior, Eirc Shuman.

The Trojans' underclassmen also made big contributions as they filled in for sidelined seniors in big games. That gave many underclassmen experience for the future. "The younger guys contributed to all of our wins and got to enjoy the blowouts by playing late in the games," said, senior, Kurtis Whitling. As the season went on, injuries plagued the Trojans but many underclassmen filled the vacant positions admirably. All underclassmen, down to the last freshmen, contributed in practice and in scrimmaging.

Post season awards went to: Best Offensive Lineman, Kurt and Kyle Whitling, (Seniors), Best Offensive Back, Nate Ady, (Senior), Best Defensive Perimeter, Eric Shuman, (Junior), Best Defensive Interior, Josh Deubner, (Senior), MVPs, Kurt and Kyle Whitling, (Seniors), and Mr. Aeneas, Larry Poulson, (Senior). Next year, the Trojans will lose 18 starters; however the seniors' example should lead the team to many more successful seasons in the years to come.
