Despite the lack of experience and height, the lady cagers finished 17-5 and second PAC-7.

"Even though we had a few weaknesses, our strengths balanced them out," stated Varsity Coach Ron Lampe. "We had quickness, good ball handling and high overall team shooting averages. We worked hard in practice on our outside shooting to make up for our lack in inside shooting."

"This was not just one group of only five girls that played well together. Every position was interchangeable and most of the positions kept switching over the year," commented senior Tennille Burkhart.

"Everyone was disappointed with the lost to West Muskingum in the Sectional finals, but the girls played really hard right down to the end," Coach Lampe remarked.

Post-season honors went to Tennille Burkhart (sr.), All- Ohio HM, District 5 Coaches; Association 1st Team, Eastern District 1st Team PAC-7, Best Defense; Stephanie Selinsky (sr.), Special Mention District 5 Coaches; Association, HM PAC-7, Coach's Award; Dani Fishley (jr.), All- Ohio Special Mention, Eastern District 1st Team, District 5 Coachs' Association 1st Team, 1st Team PAC-7, Most Valuable Player, Best Offensive; Trista Hoel (jr.), District 5 Coachs' Association HM, Most Improved.

Were your individual goals met for the season?

Dani Fishley- "No, because I wanted to make it at least to Regionals, but we did not."

Lisa Cercone- "No, because I was looking to receive more playing time than I did."

Kristi Finlayson- "Yes. I wanted to improve my playing from the last two years I had played before and I feel that I did."

Kelly Gehring- "No. I had shin splints and I had really been looking forward to seeing some varsity playing time, but because of my injuries, I could not play."

Jen Hostetler- "Yes, because I was glad I got the chance to play as much varsity as I did considering I was only a sophomore."
