Netting a respectable second place in the PAC, the lady cagers finished with an impressive 18-5 record.

"It would have been a great accomplishment to win the PAC two years in a row, but East Canton just had a better team, " said Holly Lieser

"There was definitely a lot of pressure to win PAC again. We had a lot of returning lettermen and we expected to put up a fight for the title. Winning the PAC was our number one team goal,"replied Kelly Gehring.

The highlight of the season was the team's eight game winning streak. With home court advantage, the cagers carried themselves through the first round and advanced into sectional Finals.

"The girls played hard and would not give up any game without a fight. Our biggest feat was against Coventry during our eight game winning streak. We were losing most of the game until the last few minutes when we pulled away with the victory," said Coach Ron Lampe.

The girls kept the intensity running until they took tough four point defeat against Wellsville.

"The loss was a big disappointment but we did go farther than last year while playing tougher teams," Mimi Merrill commented.

Jock Talk

What made the '94-'95 season different from previous seasons?

Jenn James- "We had a good record this season which is no different from the past. However, it did differ in that we did it without Dani Fishley. Many people seemed to think that it would be an impossible feat to win at all without her. We proved them wrong, though, just as we knew we would!"

Coach Ron Lampe- "This girls' basketball team was a very balanced team. We didn't have one player who did the bulk of our scoring. We had several individuals who contributed to the success of our offense. we didn't score as many points per game as we did the previous two years, but our point differential was better because the defense was vastly improved."

Heather Martin- "There was a lot more leadership this year compared to last year. With four more seniors this year, things went a lot smoother probably due to the fact that the team was older."
