The Lady Cagers set their standards high in hopes of repeating their feats of previous years and winning the PAC championship. The senior leadership took the Trojans to a 10-12 record, placing 5th in PAC.
"Knowing that it was the last year to play with the seniors, it made us want to work hard to keep the season going," said junior Mindi Lieser.
After losing the first game to PAC rival, the Sandy Valley Cardinals, 59-50, the Trojans rebounded in the second meeting at home where they shot down the Cardinals 55-30.
After losing to Coventry, 78-27, the ladies started a four game winning streak on their way to finishing their final seven games with the mark of 5-2.
The girls had home court advantage during tournaments where in the first round the ladies took on and defeated the Generals from Ridgewood, 54-33. In the second round they were pinned against the second seed Cadiz. When it came down to it all, the team fell just two points shy of the district semifinals.
"It was disappointing losing to Cadiz. Everyone played especially hard that game," commented freshman Sara Lundenberger.
