The 1997-98 season for the Lady Trojan Basketball team was a rough one. The team had no seniors and six juniors were eager, ready to lead the team.

"We were kinda used to having to step up and take charge, but this season was great because we were in total control. It gave us a chance to see what it will be like next year as seniors," Sara Lundenburger said.
Four out of the ten girls on the roster were underclassmen that had to step up and hold their own on the varsity team.

When asked about having such a young team, junior Gina Soehnlen was very positive in her response. "It was tough having a very young team because we didn't have experience playing with each other and it ended up working out very well. We all improved tremendously by the end of the season."

"It was a really cool experience to play on the varsity team as a freshman. We all improved so much by the end of the season," added by Sara Seward.

The Lady Trojans finished out their season with a PAC record of 1-9, which put them in a 5th place tie, and an overall record of 2-19. Even though the girls did not have the record they may have hoped for it made a good foundation for next year.

"We improved as a team so much as the season went on. Our record wasn't the greatest, and it didn't give people a chance to see just how much we really improved," said Shonna Holdsworth.
