Below is an excerpt from the yearbook
The female cagers had another tough season, but there was growth in the program. They finished the season with a record of 3-7, an improvement over last year. The seniors received some help from underclassmen which is an important factor for a young team.
The seniors stepped up and took a leadership role, which proved to keep their squad in the battle each game they played. "It was disappointing that we didn't have more wins. Our record doesn't really show how much improvement we made over the course of the season," said Kristine Himes.
The never say die attitude is important in sports, and the seniors have passed that on to the players below them. The Tusky Valley Girls' Basketball program can boast a promising future which includes many young players who saw plenty of time on varsity squad this year.
The seniors gave it one last hurrah at the sectional tournament at Indian Valley. Unfortunately, they came up short (35-44) against an impressive Newcomerstown squad.
