Season Recap
The 2009-2010 girls' basketball team had a season to remember as they tied the school record for wins in a season (22), captured the PAC title for the first time since 1994 and won the sectional title for the first time since 1995.
Tusky Valley entered tournament play with a 19-1 record. The Trojans defeated Indian Valley and Ridgewood to capture the sectional title and advance to district play. The Trojans opened district play with a 45-37 conquest of Fort Frye to set up a rematch with Garaway in the district finals. The Trojans had defeated Garaway 42-39 late in the regular season but the Pirates executed their slow pace and deliberate offense to perfection in the rematch and ended the Tusky Valley season with a 34-25 upset of the Trojans.
The Trojans were led by senior Sara Tucke who would be named the 2010 PAC Player of the Year. Tucke was also named a 2nd team All-Ohioan, the District 5 Player of the Year, & Eastern District Player of the Year. Paige Ricketts earned honorable mention All-Ohio honors for the Trojans as well as being named First Team PAC, Second Team Eastern District and Second Team District 5. Shannon Watson was also named to the PAC First Team.
The team started out of the gates strong as they were victorious in their 11 games of the season. Included in this streak was a victory over PAC powerhouse Manchester which snapped Tusky Valley's 26-game losing streak vs. the Panthers. Manchester would bounce back and win the rematch to even the season series between the two teams. The Trojans and Panthers would both finish 11-1 in PAC play and were co-champions of the PAC.
