Below is an excerpt from the yearbook:
"Our first season with soccer was certainly an interesting one, including such tasks as finding teams to play, finding referees to officiate, training the players in both individual and team skills, and establishing rules for the players," stated Coach Ed Cramer
Tusky's first soccer season was a unique experience since the players had never played together before at such a high level of competition. The team finished with a 6-11-1 ledger, very respectable for a novice team.
"We played teams of all sizes, through most were larger than we were. Our players usually made up for some of the skill they were lacking with a lot of 'heart.' I think everyone learned the vital lesson 'to never give up!"" exclaimed James Gray.
"I think our first season laid a strong foundation for a long-term soccer tradition at T.V. Hopefully, in the years to come the record will reflect our abilities and hard work habits. If I could have changed one thing, it would have been to take the conflict between the soccer and football teams, and turn that energy into positive competition to increase both sports' performances," stated senior Jason Geissinger.
"Our glory or highlight of the year came in our last regular season game against New Philadelphia. The game was billed as our Soccer Extravaganza." It was a culmination of games played by each of the four age groups - under 10, under 12, under 14, and the varsity. Tusky Valley teams combined scored 16 goals to the opponent's 1. We have a great future in soccer!" Cramer concluded. Post-season awards went to Aaron Salapack (jr.), Best Offensive Player; Brian Richesson (soph.), Best Defensive Player; Dale Stein (jr.), Coaches' Award; Jed Emley (fr.), Most Improved
