Below is an excerpt from the yearbook:

Strong senior leadership and a new coaching staff helped lead the Trojans across a bumpy road towards Division II tournaments. New varsity coach Chuck Martinelli and junior varsity coach Rod Simmons stressed conditioning early in the season.

"Coach really stressed being in good physical shape. We spent a lot of time running and building up our stamina," said senior co-captain Brendan Crews.

The booters' good physical condition and strong unity helped them win big games down the stretch.

"We were down 2-1 after the half at Marlington, and we came back to beat them 3-2," said junior Jon Croston.

Another big game for the booters was the second meeting with New Philadelphia. After an early season loss to them, the Trojans rebounded, shutting them out 2-0. The booters also racked up some goals against Timken winning 10-0 and Heritage Christian 6-0.

After a decent 5-5-6 regular season, the booters were pitted against #1 seed Hiland. They played with strong emotion and plenty of heart and held the Hawks to no goals through regulation play. Then through overtimes, the Trojans took a disappointing defeat in the shootout.

How did you, as a senior, help the team and act as a leader?

Jon Wonsetter- "I tried to be mostly positive and as the keeper, keep the team in the soccer frame of mind throughout the game."

Marty Moses- "I tried to help by being the beast co-captain that I could be and by keeping the team's spirits high. Another thing I tried to do was pull us all together and act together as a team."

J.D. Dumermuth- "I yelled and I screamed everyday to get the team pumped up. I especially yelled at the defensive guys to stay strong."
