Below is an excerpt from the yearbook:
After many hard and long two-a-day summer practices, the unanimous question always voiced was, "What For?".
The hard work and dedication paid off in the end with the boosters gaining the #1 seed in the Hiland bracket of the Sectional Tournaments. "It was really great considering that no other T.V. soccer team had ever been ranked higher than third seed. It was a great honor and showed what we could do with a little bit of hard work," stated senior Greg Simmons.
The Trojans battled the West Holmes Knights for the Sectional Championship, and brought the title home with them, by beating West Holmes 1-0.
The boosters' regular season was full of many last minutes wins and heart breaking losses. Dramatic finishes included Nick Winters' game winner at Dover and Greg Simmons' last minute shot at home against West Holmes.
"The regular season was full of many memories and unexpected twists. But we pulled through all of our problems and finished the season at .500," said senior Donnie Hill.
At Districts, the Trojans were matched against Coshocton. The Trojans gave a valiant effort, but were defeated 5-1. "Districts was the most disappointing. We were all really pumped up for it and ready to play. The loss really didn't hit me until I realized that my high school soccer career was over," said Nick Winters.
