Softball was new to Tusky Valley girls' athletic program. First year Coach, Jodi Weinhardt, took the responsibility along with assistant Rick Cercone to make the season a successful one. The girls finished 9-14 overall and fifth in the PAC-7 with a 2-8 ledger.

"The intensity we generated at the beginning of the season helped us rack up a 5-0 record against some good teams. However, we became inconsistent and lost some games we should not have. I am really looking forward to next year because we will have some good teams we should not have. I am really looking forward to next year because we will have some of the experience needed against high caliber competition," remarked Coach Weinhardt.

"I thought we did really well for our first year. Everything came together during the middle of the season. We all began to fall into our own jobs and worked as a team unit," commented junior Heather Fisher.

"There were a lot of times when we lost confidence in ourselves, but after a talk from our coaches, we regained our team spirit. We have a lot of talent on our team and have a lot to look forward to next year," said Lisa Cercone.

Post-season awards went to Tennille Burkhart (soph.), Best Offensive Player, Most Improved Player; Cheri Aul (fr.), Most Outstanding Pitcher; Dani Fishley (fr.), Best Batting Average; Jenn Levengood (sr.), Coaches' Award.
