The volleyball team had a disappointing season. The varsity team ended at 1-20, while the reserve squad finished at 2-18. Both teams had their ups and downs but they stuck together and showed strong teamwork throughout the season.

Senior captain Julie Beers was recognized as best defensive player and she was also selected to the All-Ohio Conference team. Suzie Nelson received the Coaches' Award, while Molly Miller of the varsity squad and Ellen Katoll of the reserve squad received awards for having the best serving percentages on their teams.

A better season in '83 is predicted with seven returning lettermen.
