For the first time in eight years Tusky Valley's volleyball team advanced to the second round of the Sectionals by defeating Dover, 2 out of 3, on October 15.

The girls finished fifth in the Senate League with a 4-10 mark and ended the season with an overall record of 5-17, two wins better than last season.

Coach Sandra Douglas felt that the strongest point of the team was "being able to come from behind; the girls just never gave up. They worked harder this year and they were willing to work together well."

In this, her second year of coaching, Miss Douglas and her assistant Carol Miller, improved the team by two wins. At that rate, the future looks bright. Coach Douglas' outlook for next year? "Definitely better. We should end better than .500 and third or fourth in the league," she forecasted.
