Volleyball finished the 87' season with a closely fought sectional final match against Tri-Valley. Even though T.V. came out "firing" Tri-Valley's defense and offense got the best of them, beating T.V. 15-12, 15-13. Tusky defeated Coshocton 15-5, 15-1 to reach the finals.

"Our tournament game against Coshocton put us into the sectional finals which Tusky Valley had seen only one time before," stated Coach Kerry Steffen. "That was a real highlight for us."

Finishing overall 9-12, the girls placed fourth in the Senate.

"The season started slowly, but as soon as the girls realized their potential to win, they worked harder and executed their skills aggressively. We were shooting for a five hundred season and ended 9-12, a great improvement from last season. The improvement was due to teamwork. Although we worked well together, it took us a while to get organized. The second half of the season we won 7 out of 9," Coach Steffen concluded.

Seniors Wendi Weinhardt and Pam Glaserman received first and second team Senate League, respectively. Wendi said, "We had our best season ever this year. It began slowly but when we gained confidence, we worked for every victory. I am proud of the team and I know the team will continue to improve through the years,"

Pam added, "We did have a slow start, but as the season progressed, we began to work as a team. Our victory over Coshocton in our first sectional to run ament was quite an exciting experience for us. It was an excellent season."

Post-season awards went to Pam Glaserman (sr.), Co-Most Outstanding Player, 2nd Team Senate; Wendi Weinhardt (sr.), Co-Most Outstanding Player, 1st Team Senate; Susan Martin (sr.), Most Blocks, HM All-Senate; Tammy Workman (sr.), Best Serving Pct.; Kim Shellock (soph.), Most Improved; Holly Rhodes (soph), Coach's Award.
