After several days off because of inclement weather the Tusky Valley softball team returned to the diamond for a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Minerva. Unfortunately, the Trojans were not able to pick up their first victory of the season as they lost by scores of 10-0 and 4-3.
Minerva jumped on the Trojans early in game on as they scored in each of the first two innings to take a 3-0 lead. However, the real damage was done in the bottom of the 4th inning when the Lions plated four runs to extend the lead to 7-0 on their way to the 10-0 victory.
Game two was a back and forth affair. Minvera took and early 1-0 lead before Tusky Valley scored two runs in the top of the fourth to take a 2-1 lead. The Lions would tie it at 2-2 with a run in the bottom of the 4th inning before Tusky Valley took a 3-2 lead with run in their half of the fifth. The Lions would then score two runs in the bottom of the fifth and hold on for a 4-3 win.
Tusky Valley (0-5) will be back in action on Monday night when they host the Indian Valley Braves in PAC action. First pitch is at 5:00 PM. |
